Comic Maker

I'm in the middle of several things at the moment, which is why I still haven't posted part 2 of the TW process. It's pretty much done but I want to double check it, and don't have the time yet. Will also chuck in the Gallifrey report soon, which is in a similar state. But not right now, because it's Friday night, baby, and I got plans! Yeah! BIG plans! That's right - I'm getting a takeaway, and firing up the PS3! Out of control, man! I'm a maverick! I'm a loose cannon! I hate the paperwork, but I get the job done, dammit!

Shut up, I can pretend what I want.

Anyway, one of the smaller, secret things I did recently was for the BBC's Comic Maker. The news article has just gone up here, and you can read my comic here. The brief was to do a short, fun 6-page comic using only the things in the Comic Maker - they gave me a list of backgrounds, characters, monsters, and props that were available - to show what the application can do. So go and have a play with it if you like, it's all free and pretty flexible.

Me? I got some business to attend to... Now, where's the takeaway menu?

Well I hope your takeaway dinner was better than ours... Ours had weevils in it I'm sure, though not the type that wear boiler suits.

As for the comic maker, you have made my lad v v v v happy. Or at least you will when I get round to telling him... Don't want the lil' bugger on the laptop all wknd, do I??? Gotta get some fresh air in those lungs...

...ALRIGHT, Yes: I'm writing all wknd and I'm evil mother. SHUTIT.

I read your Comic Maker comic (tautology?) earlier today. It's good, I enjoyed it! However I always feel with it and the other ones the BBC advertise, that they are too short. Six pages of loveliness, but I want a whole Trade Paperback or Graphic Novel.

You should definitely write a conventional comic sometime.

I did laugh when I read your comic last night. Nice break from revision for me...but I agree with gracielizzy, we want more than 6 pages!!!

Dom: Pizza. Oh yes.

Glad people liked it - as far as I know, 6 pages is the maximum on the site, but I could be wrong. I'd love to write a full length comic, though I'd need more practice first. But something along those lines *might* be happening soon. Watch this space...

Jolly good comic-making Mr Moran!

Have you had a little play with the Trailer Maker? Oodles of fun-ness to be had there too!
Huzzah! for the BBC! Saving us all from having to do.. what's that pesky thingie called?.... Oh yes - work!

Again - Huzzah! I say!

Arrrrgghh...Outside the UK so I'm not allowed to view it.

On the plus side, just watched the Pompeii episode of Doctor Who (love my DVR)--great episode!

I can't view it either for being too foreign. Is there a possibility of screencapping it? (As long as that doesn't interfere with copyright.)

Unfortunately, I can't view the comic because of right restrictions. But just dropping by to say hello, and good luck on your business and biiig plans. :D

Did you see the little blurb in TORCHWOOD MAGAZINE issue #4 from the Producer about getting you to work for TORCHWOOD? Interesting to read your account and the flip side by him.

I am a little dissapointed that you own a PS3, Nintendo Wii all the way! Apart from that, I think your a rather spiffy writer and mucho enjoy this blog.

Enjoyed the CM stuff! Can we count on more Doctor Who scripts from you once Steven Moffat takes over as Showrunner? (According to this morning's Guardian, that is.)

Christ, is that meant to be Donna?

They've ... um ... streamlined her a bit.

I wonder if your next entry will be entitled:

The kind is dead - long live the king!

I wonder if *you'll* be king one day...

Although I feel I have to point out I'm not suggesting Russell is dead. Unless... you didn't give in to the urges to kill again, did you?

*claws at the website* Nooo! Damn my American hide! I'll have to imagine your comic, (which I'm sure was excellent) while I sit here and pout and the BBC points and laughs at me. :(
